Here at Sweet Pea we’re looking forward to Spring with our new courses for 2010. We’re very excited about launching our Advanced Wedding Package for all you budding florists. This 4 week course is designed to walk you through the essentials of wedding floristry step by step.

I’m also delighted to announce the dates for our popular Mother’s Day Flower Arranging Workshops, a real treat for mum or you. Our workshops will teach you everything you need to know to make your own beautiful arrangements whatever your budget. Get the inspiration and skills in our informal workshops to get creative at home.

The Advanced Wedding Package

When: Sat 13th Feb, Sat 20th Feb, Sat 27th Feb, Sat 6th Mar 10.30-4.30
Where: Candid Arts Gallery, 3 Torrens Street, EC1V 1NQ

We have designed this advanced 4 week course for those who want to help cut the cost of a loved one’s wedding by getting creative, or those simply wanting to hone the skills learnt from other workshops. Each week we will look at different aspects of wedding floristry, from bridal bouquets and buttonholes to large pedestal arrangements. The course is bookable per session @ £175 or as a course @ £600.

Course dates

• 13th Feb Intro: Inspiration & designing; what’s in season, colour palette, buying
• 20th Feb: Bridal Bouquets & buttonholes
• 27th Feb: Ceremony flowers; pedestal arrangements, pew ends
• 6th Mar: Venue flowers; top table, table centres, dressing venue

Classes from 10.30 - 4.30pm with 45 mins for lunch. All flowers, foliages and equipment will be provided. Light refreshements and teas and coffees provided but not lunch.

Mother’s day Flower Arranging Workshops

When: Sat 13th & Sun 14th March 2010
Where: Candid Arts Gallery, 3 Torrens Street, EC1V 1NQ

If you have a passion for flowers and want to learn how to make your own gorgeous arrangements at home, then investing in these workshops is for you. As well as being great value, the workshops are a lovely experience too. Choose from the Dinner Party Class or the Hand-tied bouquet class

The intimate 2.5-hour workshops are lead by Marianne Johnson, Sweet Pea’s founder, and will be rich with insider knowledge and tricks of the trade built up from over 10 years in the industry. Using fresh, quality stems, she will reveal essential tips such as how to chose the perfect seasonal flowers and colour palette, and how to keep your blooms in tip-top condition.

After the step-by-step demo its your turn to get creative while Sweet Pea’s experienced team are along side to assist you. You’ll then get the chance to compare your designs with your fellow florists over a cuppa and cake before taking your masterpieces home. All flowers, equipment, aprons and delicious refreshments are provided.

Places are £70 per person.

We provide all flowers, foliages and equipment and light refreshments including delicious cakes.

Winter Flower School 2009

Our Mother's Day Workshop 2009

A big thank you to everyone who joined us in Seven Dials and helped make them such a success.

After a demo by Marianne and expert tips and advice, our ladies made their very own creations. The Sweet Pea girls were very impressed with the results! They then ate cup-cakes and sipped cava before heading home with their masterpieces. A wonderful experience to share with Mum.
